Bread making is an age old art of mixing flour with water and heating.
Yeast is used in most bread types to create a more airy loaf.
Salt is used for flavour although too much can inhibit the yeast.
It seems that almost every culture has a local bread from the Naan breads of Indian cuisine to French baguettes.
Bread making has changed over the centuries and the common square loafs we are now accustomed too are a recent development.
Bread making seems to have come full circle with the growing popularity of bread makers.
Individuals are baking bread for themselves rather than buying manufactured products.
