Bread making

Bread making is an age old art of mixing flour with water and heating. Yeast is used in most bread types to create a more airy loaf. Salt is used for flavour although too much can inhibit the yeast.

It seems that almost every culture has a local bread from the Naan breads of Indian cuisine to French baguettes. Bread making has changed over the centuries and the common square loafs we are now accustomed too are a recent development. Bread making seems to have come full circle with the growing popularity of bread makers. Individuals are baking bread for themselves rather than buying manufactured products.
